Drowning At Catahoula Boat Landing Claims Life Of New Iberia Man

21-year-old Marques K. Bogan of New Iberia drowned Saturday while he was swimming with friends at the Catahoula Boat Landing.

Major Ginny Higgins with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office says officers got the call just before 6:00 p.m. Satuday. She says despite one of his friends’ efforts to revive him, Bogan never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are conducting an autopsy to figure out the exact cause of death.
