Drowning Suspected In Death On Amite River

A man's body was pulled from the upper Amite River on Memorial Day.

Livingston Parish authorities are investigating the Folsom man's death, and autopsy results are pending in 21-year-old Jacques Demare's death.

Police say they believe Demare's death was the result of him drowning while he was tubing on the river.  They say it happened near Tike Tubing, just north of Denham Springs.

Tiki Tubing was shut down briefly during the search but re-opened once the body was removed.
