The U.S. Attorney's Office in the Western District has announced that a Lafayette man has been sentenced to seven years in jail for selling heroin.

The man, 33-year-old Terrence T. Woods of Lafayette said in his plea deal that he and three other people distributed heroin in the Acadiana area both last year and in 2016.

The three other men who have been sentenced in the case are 36-year-old Robert Jenkins and 34-year-old Jacobe Arceneaux from Lafayette along with 32-year-old Joshua Edwards of Breaux Bridge.

Jenkins pleaded guilty, and he received seven and a half years in jail.

Arceneaux will be spending 80 months in prison.

Edwards received a ten year sentence for his part in the conspiracy to sell heroin.

The four men were arrested as part of a drug sting called, "Operation Toxic Mix".
