Drug Suspect Crashes His Truck In St. Mary Parish

St. Mary Parish Narcotics Division detectives arrested a man fleeing a traffic stop after the man crashed his truck into a ditch.

Deputies arrested 31-year-old Jackie Roberson, Jr. after detectives say his pick-up truck driving in the middle of Lockley Street in the Baldwin area last night.

When police tried to stop Roberson, they say he sped up in an attempt to get away from them, and he ended up crashing his truck on Rosebud Street.

A passenger in Roberson's car was treated and released from the Iberia Medical Center.

Police say they found several pieces of crack on the floor of the truck and a small bag of marijuana in the center console.

Roberson was arrested on the following charges:

• Negligent injuring
• Possession of marijuana, 3rd offense
• Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
• Possession of Schedule III (Norco)
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
