Drug Tests Negative In Times Square Crash

NEW YORK (AP) — Prosecutors say they're deferring a decision to try the driver of a sightseeing bus that plowed into a Times Square plaza citing preliminary drug and alcohol tests that came back negative.

The Manhattan District Attorney's office said late Wednesday that it's waiting for the results of a full toxicology report on William Dalambert before proceeding.

Police said Dalambert failed a field sobriety test after Tuesday's crash but that there was no evidence he had been drinking.

The New Jersey man was at the wheel of a Gray Line bus that crashed into another double-decker tourist bus and a sidewalk on Tuesday.

The accident sent 14 people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Dalambert's license had been suspended 20 times but was valid at the time of the crash.
