A jury indicts a man accused of trafficking drugs into Acadiana.

Prosecutor Stephanie Finley says Antonio Valdez, Jr. of Weslaco, Texas, was a part of a group that would use 18-wheelers, SUVs and other vehicles to smuggle in hundreds of kilos of cocaine and thousands of pounds of marijuana from Mexico into the area and other parts of the US.

At sentencing, Valdez faces life in prison as well as a $4,000,000 fine, or both.
