A St. Mary Parish man has been arrested on a slew of drug related charges.

Narcotics agents arrested Doan Nguyen from Siracusa on charges including intent to distribute synthetic cannabinoids and possession of bath salts with intent to distribute.  Nguyen was also charged with violation of the drug laws dealing with churches and recreational areas.

Officers say when they searched T and N food mart, which is next to a church and park, they  seized synthetic cannabinoids, bath salts, drug paraphernalia, two firearms and 145 thousand dollars.  Agents say Nguyen was selling the drugs from the food mart.

In other law enforcement news from St. Mary Parish, officers arrested 17-year-old Nata Sedatol of Charenton on warrants for simple burglary and simple damage to property.

Officers say that Sedatol came to the sheriff’s office in relation to an investigation.  Police say while they were interviewing Sedatol it was learned that there were existing warrants for the suspect.  Sedatol was arrested, and his bond has been set at 20-thousand dollars.
