En-route to address the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, City-Parish President Joey Durel took time to call 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' to discuss the upcoming year's budget and shortfalls that would have to be addressed.

Durel admitted the budget process is complicated,

"I'm the first one to say that I was there for eight years before I realized what was going on with the allocation process."

Durel went on to say that when consolidation took place the split was pretty much along population lines.  Allocations were made based on how many people lived inside the Lafayette City limits and how many lived outside the city limits.
