City-Parish President Joey Durel joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today and announced the ribbon cutting ceremony for a new Apache Natural Gas facility in Lafayette.  Durel welcomed Apache's compressed natural gas facility to Lafayette on Verot School Road near the Evangeline Thruway.

Durel said the Apache facility is opened to the general public and helped to motivate Lafayette Consolidated Government to build it's own CNG facility for government as well as private vehicles.  According to Durel,

"It has to be open to the public because the grant that funded the facility requires it be open to the general public.  So that gives two stations in Lafayette and we know there are two or three groups or individuals planning to build similar facilities."
