DWI Causes Serious Injury in Calcasieu

A Lake Charles woman is in the hospital after an accident in Calcasieu Parish.  It happened Friday evening on Louisiana Highway 3059 when 29-year-old Lindsey Anderson of Jennings lost control of her 2007 Mitsubishi in a curve causing her to hit a driveway and go airborne until the vehicle came to rest in a ditch.

Both Anderson and her passenger, 18-year-old Shaylynn Fontenot of Lake Charles, were not wearing seat belts when the crash took place.  Anderson was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, but Fontenot was injured more seriously and was also taken to the hospital.

State Police arrested Anderson on charges of DWI, vehicular negligent injuring, careless operation, and failure to wear a seatbelt.

The accident remains under investigation.
