DWI Checkpoint In Lafayette Sees Eight Arrested

There were eight arrests out of 629 vehicles that were checked.  That was at the Lafayette DWI checkpoint Saturday night, which was set up near Adrien's Supermarket on the 3900 block of West Congress Street. 14 vehicles were stopped for secondary testing. Five drivers were arrested and charged with OWI;

1. Hardesty, Robert J. (55) Driving Under Suspension Revocation, OWI

2. Gary, Ross E. (23) OWI

3. Rideau, Kerry R. (20) OWI

4. Stinson, Clint R. (25) OWI, Possession of Narcotics

5. Reynolds, Christopher C. (37) OWI

The other three arrests made were;

1. Bernard, Phillip J. (21), Cultivation of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

2. Scoggin, Sebastain L. (21) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

3. Thibeaux, Ronald, (28) Driving Under Suspension Revocation, Possession of Narcotics, Resisting Arrest

The Lafayette Parish Police Department would like to remind you to designate a driver if you intend to drink, by not doing so, it could result in costly fines and serious jail time.
