A Dequincy man faces his fourth DWI charge.

It happened this past Friday afternoon around 3:30.  A Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Deputy was traveling on Highway 27 when he saw a driver, William Allen Shoemake, allegedly weaving around the road. A short time later, the deputy saw the driver go off the road enough to hit a mailbox.

A Louisiana State Trooper arrived and noticed evidence indicating that Shoemake was drunk.

Shoemake, who previously had run-ins with police for drunk driving, faces charges for DWI, driving with a suspended license, and careless operation.

He was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center.
