E.A. Conway Hospital In Monroe To Cut 30 Jobs
MONROE, La. (AP) — E.A. Conway Medical Center will keep its obstetrics department, but officials must begin implementing reductions to its emergency room operations that includes the elimination of 30 jobs.
The News-Star reports Administrator Ayron McGuire informed hospital staff about the final plan from LSU Health officials Thursday morning.
That plan includes the elimination of 30 jobs and the reduction of 12 medical/surgery beds, four emergency department beds and six ICU beds.
The hospital will have 120 staffed beds following the bed capacity reduction.
E.A. Conway also will review contracts for professional services to determine if some can be reduced or terminated for cost-savings.
