Early-Morning Easter Crash Claims Life Of Abbeville Man

An Abbeville man is dead after he was ejected from his vehicle in an early morning traffic accident on Highway 330 in Vermilion Parish.

According to details collected by Troop I investigators, 64- year-old Frank Blanchard of Abbeville was traveling south of La. 330 at around 1 a.m. Easter Sunday when he failed to negotiate a left curve. After over correcting twice, Blanchard's 2002 Chevrolet truck struck a culvert, ejecting him from the vehicle.

Blanchard, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Abbeville General Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
