While it seemed that the election season might have gotten off to a slow start, the time to start voting is this Saturday, October 10.

Early voting for the October 24 primary begins this Saturday and runs through Saturday, October 17.

While you can for on the two Saturdays during this time frame, there will be no early voting on Sunday, October 11.

There are a multitude of races on the ballot. Local races for Lafayette City Parish President, Lafayette Parish Sheriff, Tax Assesor along with races for State Legisative seats and statewide races.

You can get a copy of the sample ballot for your district by visiting geauxvote.com.

You will need to bring your picture identification when you go to vote in your parish. Lafayette's Parish Registrar of Voter's Office is located at 1010 Lafayette Street Suite 213.

Check with your local parish government for the location of early voting.

Early voting will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. on each of the eligible days.
