Get your fork, knife and spoon ready because it is time for another season of Eat Lafayette.  The campaign kicked off years ago as the "brainchild" of Charlie Goodson, owner of Charley G's, and Gerald Breaux of the Lafayette Convention and Visitors commission.

The purpose of the Eat Lafayette campaign is the focus on the multitude of fabulous local restaurants in Lafayette with deal and special promotions.  This year's event is being sponsored by the following entities:

Julie Calzone, of Calzone and Associates, tells KPEL, "this campaign has really grown over the years".  There is a multimedia campaign that will help to spotlight each of the more than 60 restaurants that are in the campaign.  The campaign starts today and will go through August 15rh, 2012.

Tomorrow night at the Acadiana Center For the Arts on West Vermilion there will be a kick-off event, A Taste Of Lafayette, that will have more than forty of the Eat Lafayette participants sharing their dishes with those in attendance.  Many of the dishes being served as part of the campaign have also been paired with a select Robert Mondavi wine.
