Today marks the start of the Leadership for Change 2012 Louisiana Education Summit in Baton Rouge. The summit is a collection of national, political, and educational leaders.

The event was organized by the Baton Rouge representative and House Education Chairmen Steve Carter.

Carter says that they are hoping to get an exchange of ideas that will lead to a better education standard for Louisiana students. The hope was to get 500 attendees, but the current registration is around 800. One of which is Governor Bobby Jindal himself. He is expected to make a speech around 11:20 this moring.
