Former Governor Edwin Edwards is expected to make his first public appearance at an awards banquet honoring his biographer, Leo Honeycutt. Honeycutt is being honored by the Foundation for Historical Louisiana for his award-winning bestselling book. Bennett says Honeycutt's book, as filled with facts as it is, only scratched the surface.

She says its significant that Edwards chose this event to make his first public appearance. She says the former governor is in great demand and he will have his choice of projects.

FHL Executive Director Carolyn Bennett says it's wonderful to have Edwards at the event. She says the former governor is one of the most fascinating figures in Louisiana history.
