Former Governor Edwin Edwards makes his first public comments since his release from Federal Prison while attending a banquet in Baton Rouge. Edwards and his biographer Leo Honeycutt were being honored by the Louisiana Historical Foundation. Edwards only wanted to talk about his biography and is expected to make more comments about his future plans at a press conference on July 30th. He says the book offers a look into Louisiana's past.

Edwards says he plans to write a sequel to Honeycutt's book. He says 20 appeareances have been scheduled statewide for his book tour so that he can say hello to old friends and renew old aquantainces. Edwards also says he's looking forward to starting his new life with his fiance Trina Scott.
