BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Gov. John Bel Edwards has ordered the flags to be flown at half-staff over the Louisiana State Capitol and all public buildings until sunset on Thursday to honor those killed or wounded in the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

Edwards issued the executive order Monday.

He says the state is ready to assist Florida if needed to help bring "justice for those whose lives were lost."
