Former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun and current New York Jets running back Elijah McGuire signed his rookie deal over the weekend.

The total value of McGuire's 4 year deal is worth up to $2,568,516 if he plays out the life of the deal.

He received a $168,516 signing bonus.

The yearly cap hit of McGuire's contract is as follows: $507,129 in 2017, $597,129 in 2018, $687,129 in 2019 and $777,129 in 2020.

McGuire's ability as a pass catcher and proven runner makes him a strong candidate to become the Jets 3rd down back in the near future.

He joins veterans Matt Forte and Bilal Powell in New York's backfield.

McGuire is the 4th player drafted from Louisiana since Mark Hudspeth took over in 2011, joining Dwight "Bill" Bentley (class of 2011), LeDarius Green (class of 2011) and Christian Ringo (class of 2014).
