Louisiana Ragin' Cajun junior running back Elijah McGuire will have many eyes in the college football world looking at him in the upcoming season.

Today, McGuire was nominated for his third national award, landing on the prestigious Doak Walker Award watch list. The award is presented to college football's best running back after the regular season.

McGuire is already on the prestigious Paul Hornung Award watch list (most versatile player) and Maxwell Award watch list (best player in college football).

McGuire, the reigning 2014 Sun Belt Conference player of the year, has rushed for 2127 yards and 22 touchdowns, while adding 67 catches for 852 yards and another 5 touchdowns over the last two years.

Last season, his 7.61 average yards per carry was third best in the NCAA.

Louisiana kicks off the season September 5th in Lexington against the University of Kentucky.
