One team is coming off a near upset of defending Division IV state champion Vermilion Catholic, while the other is coming off an upset of previously-ranked Rayne.

Eunice (3-5, 1-3) nearly came back to defeat the Screamin' Eagles last Friday, holding them scoreless in the 4th Quarter. But a 22-20 loss has left the Bobcats fighting for their playoff lives.

EHS is led offensively by dual-threat QB Alex Richard and by workhorse RB Ty Caesar, who has 8 TDs on the season. The Bobcats run the Wing-T offense, which is the same kind of offense that Rayne ran last week in their loss to Crowley High (6-2, 4-1).

Speaking of the Gents, RB Ty'von Griffin was electric in their victory over the Wolves last week. His 293 rushing yards in that game put him over 1,110 rushing yards for the season, and his 5 TDs scored on the ground now bring his total to 16 TDs on the season. But CHS also has a dual-threat QB of their own in Pate Broussard, who himself has over 1,100 yards passing on the season. Broussard's top two targets, WRs Terrell Thomas and Jacq'Co Price, each have over 300 yards receiving and 3 TDs on the season.

Kickoff at Gardiner Memorial Stadium in Crowley is set for 7 p.m. The game can be heard on Newstalk 96.5 KPEL. Ian Auzenne (play-by-play) and Brandon Comeaux (color) will have the call.
