Eunice Couple Arrested For Stealing Checks

EUNICE, La. (KPEL) — Two people have been arrested for allegedly stealing several checks from the woman they lived with and using them to buy drugs.

Deputy Chief Varden Guillory says the nephew of the victim, 34-year-old Joshua Sharp, and his wife, 30-year-old Frankie Sharp, stole several checks from he while she was out of town. The victim notified police after she noticed several discrepancies on her checking account.

The two suspects admitted to stealing the checks after being questioned by police. They say they made several purchases and would cash the checks in order to buy drugs.

Both have been arrested and booked on charges of monetary instrument abuse, theft, and forgery.
