EUNICE, La. (KPEL) -- A Eunice man has been arrested on charges he kidnapped a husband, sexually assaulted his victim's wife, then made threatening phone calls to both victims after it was learned his crimes had been reported to police.

Deputy Chief Varden Guillory with the Eunice Police Department said the husband was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint, while the couple's children were locked away in a room and the wife was sexually assaulted.

The suspect, 32-year-old Duong Minh Le, then allegedly made several threatening phone calls to the victims, Guillory said, after he learned his crimes had been reported to authorities. Officers overheard some of these threats during the course of their investigation, Guillory said.

Le was eventually found, Guillory said, and he was booked into the Eunice City Jail on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated rape, harassing phone calls, and criminal trespassing.

The wife was transported to Acadiana Medical Center for treatment, Guillory said, where detectives were notified.
