You don't hear stories like this often, but our news partners at KATC say a Eunice man was arrested for allegedly stealing from a Walmart store in his community and then getting away in the electric shopping cart he was using to take the items.

Eunice Police arrested 45-year-old Daniel Gaspard for allegedly stealing the following:

  • A pack of Mardi Gras cups
  • A half-gallon of Taaka vodka
  • An Adidas sun visor
  • A TV antenna
  • $73 worth of electronics
  • The electric shopping cart

The call went out to officers that their suspect was riding the electric shopping cart, and Gaspard was arrested after someone phoned in a tip that he could be found in a parking lot near the Walmart.

Gaspard faces criminal trespassing and felony theft charges.
