23-year-old Cordero Coleman of Eunice has been arrested after allegedly robbing a Chevron that was only three blocks away from his home.

Eunice Police Deputy Chief Varden Guillory says an officer noticed Coleman running away from the convenience store on 801 West Laurel Avenue with a stocking over his head and a pistol in his hand. As he and other officers responded, the armed robbery was called in, which prompted another officer in the area to eventually take down Coleman after he fit the description given to officers. Guillory says Coleman was taken down by a taser after he allegedly would not listen to officers commands to stop.

Officers say they found cash ($450.22) and other items in Coleman's pocket from the robbery, and the pistol used in the robbery was confirmed stolen from the Alexandria area.

Bond has been set for Coleman at $97,500.00.
