EUNICE, La. (KPEL) -- A Eunice man accused of beating a woman in February was arrested at the victim's home Monday, when he was also charged with a number of drug violations.

Deputy Chief Varden Guillory with the Eunice Police Dept. said 37-year-old Charles Jamie Hill allegedly beat the female victim in the head, then fled the scene before police arrived.

Guillory said police got a call Monday that Hill was back at the victim's home on Dudley Street. Responding officers were given permission to go inside the house to find Hill, and he was taken into custody a short time later.

Hill had crack cocaine and other drug paraphernalia on him, as well as $3,100 in cash, Guillory said. He also had allegedly been using the drugs in the presence of a minor in the home and the home was also in a drug free zone, Guillory said.

Hill was also arrested on the domestic abuse charges.
