A Eunice man, out on bond after allegedly trying to beat up his ex-girlfriend with an electric skillet, is facing new charges after allegedly pouring bleach in her face and all over her body.

Eunice police responded to a call at the 200 block of North 8th Street Monday night.

Officers arrived and interviewed the victim. She alleged that 34-year-old Chanse Ceasar held her her down while he poured bleach all over her.  She says when she tried to run, Ceasar started beating her with a belt.

Tuesday, the woman was released from an area hospital after getting treatment for her wounds.  Police then interviewed Chance and he was arrested on charges of

  • 2nd degree battery
  • Domestic abuse battery with injuries
  • Disturbing the peace

Chance appeared before 27th Judicial District Judge James Doherty yesterday, and he had his bond set at $11,500.

This is not Chanse's first run in with the law. Deputy Chief Guillory says that Chance is the same man they arrested in July of 2012 after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend's home and attempted to beat her with an electric skillet.

The victim said Chance broke into her home through a window.  She ran out of the home while calling police for help. They found her without shoes three blocks from her home.

Police say they then tracked down Chance a short distance away from the victim, still holding the electric skillet in his hands.  Chance was subsequently arrested on the following charges:

  • Home Invasion
  • Entry or remaining on premises after being forbidden
  • Disturbing the Peace
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Resisting an Officer
