Eunice Man Shot In The Leg

Eunice Police say they are working to find the person responsible for shooting a man in the leg while he was walking in an alley.

Deputy Police Chief Varden Guillory says they responded to Acadian Medical Center after getting the report about the man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The 22-year-old victim told police that he was walking in an alley near Joyce's Bar when he says he heard what he thought was a gunshot.

He was shot in the upper left leg, and he walked home then went to get medical treatment.

Police say the suspect is unknown, and the victim did not cooperate with officers during his interview.

Guillory says the wound appears to be from a small caliber handgun.
