EUNICE, La. (KPEL) — Police in Eunice are investigating a shooting on the campus of Louisiana State University at Eunice that happened early Thursday morning.

According to Deputy Chief Varden Guillory with the Eunice Police Department, witnesses described the vehicles used in the shooting.

When officers pulled over three cars in the area, a passenger jumped from one of them and fled through a neighborhood. That person is still on the loose, Guillory says.

Guillory says shots were fired two separate times, about thirty minutes apart from each other. Bullet casings have been recovered and are being processed.

The case remains under investigation.
