Eunice Police Investigating Apparent Rape Of Alzheimer’s Patient

EUNICE, La. (KPEL) -- Police in Eunice are investigating the apparent rape of an 82-year-old Alzheimer's patient.

Deputy Chief Varden Guillory with the Eunice Police Department says Acadian Medical Center immediately notified police when the patient's doctor discovered evidence of the rape.

Evidence obtained from the emergency room has been turned over for processing to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.

Guillory says the patient was a resident of an assisted living facility.
