Eunice Train Crash Leaves Woman Dead

A woman is dead and one person charged with her death after her car was struck by a train last night in Eunice.

Witnesses tell police a car driven by Larry Gallien was idling on the track next to another car driven by Leona Withers. When the train approached, Withers tried to  pull away, but Gallien did not. Gallien is charged with two counts of vehicular negligent injury, first offense DWI, obstruction of public passages, disobeying a railroad signal, expired driver's license, and open container.
