The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has cited an Evangeline Parish man for capturing alligators out of season.

L-D-W-F officials say they got an anonymous tip from the Department's tipline that John Sonnier of Basille was holding the alligators in a container near his home. Investigators found four alligators in the container, and Sonnier admitted to capturing them. The alligators were released into the wild. Sonnier faces a fine of up to 950-dollars.
