Ex-EPA Administrator Jackson Joins Tulane Board
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Tulane University says former Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lisa Jackson has joined the university's main governing body.
Jackson is a New Orleans native who graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Tulane. Her Tulane biography notes that she went on to earn a master of science degree in chemical engineering from Princeton University before joining the EPA as a staff-level scientist in 1987.
In 2009 she was named administrator of the EPA, the first African-American and only the fourth woman to hold that position. She left the job in February.
She currently is vice president of Environmental Initiatives at Apple.
