LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — The former fire chief for the town of Gueydan has been sentenced in federal court for attempting to receive child pornography.

U.S. Attorney Stephanie A. Finley said Friday that U.S. District Judge Rebecca Doherty sentenced 43-year-old Lindsey Troy LeBlanc to 63 months in prison for his guilty plea to two counts of attempting to receive child pornography.

Finley said Leblanc admitted to engaging in sexually explicit on-line chats with persons he believed to be minors. In fact, Finley says, LeBlanc was talking with an undercover officer portraying himself as a 14-year-old girl.
