Expanded Offshore Drilling

As the one-year anniversary of the BP oil spill approaches, two Congressional panels are looking at legislation that would expand offshore drilling.  One proposal seeks to dramatically increase the area along the Gulf Coast where companies can drill for oil and natural gas.  The other two bills would slash the time it takes to get new drilling permits and set deadlines for upcoming lease sales in the Gulf.
