It'll be a battle of the top hitting teams in the Sun Belt this weekend when Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns (20-8, 4-5 Sun Belt) play host to the Troy Trojans (20-7, 6-3).  Gametimes are 6 pm Friday and Saturday and 1 pm on Sunday at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field.

Troy is riding a seven game winning streak into the weekend series.  And, if the statistics mean anything, look for some runs to be scored at the "Tigue."

Troy (.310) and the Cajuns (.306) have the two highest batting averages in the league.  They also are first and second in slugging percentage, runs scored and on-base percentage.

Both coaches, Bobby Pierce of Troy, and Tony Robichaux of Louisiana, have set their pitching rotation for the weekend.  On Friday RHP Tanner Hicks (3-1. 3.76) faces Cajuns' LHP Ryan Wilson (2-1, 2.43.)  Saturday it's a pair of righthanders as Troy's Will Starling (4-2, 4.96) opposing Austin Robichaux (3-2, 3.10) and two lefties battle on Sunday with Shane McCain (5-0, 3.46) hooking up with the Cajuns' Cody Boutte (5-1, 4.87).

The Trojans feature the #3, 4, and 5 hitters in the league.  Logan Pierce (.411-3-29) Danny Collins (.402-6-39,) and Tyler Vaughn (.394-0-15) are Bobby Pierce's top three hitters.  Collins leads the Sun Belt in RBI, total bases, slugging percentage and is tied for the lead in on-base percentage.  Vaughn leads the league in runs scored and Pierce is tops in hits.

UL's Tyler Girouard (.436) is the league's leading hitter and is tied with Collins in on-base percentage (.515.)

The games can be heard this weekend on News/Talk 96.5 KPEL at 6 pm Friday, 5:45 pm Saturday and 12:45 pm Sunday.  Friday's game can also be heard on ESPN1420 beginning at 5:45.
