LA State Police Report An Explosion And Fire At Ascension Parish Plant

According to our news partners at KATC and LA State Police an explosion occurred just before 9:00 this morning at the Williams Companies Olefins (o-la-fins)  plant near Geismar in Ascension Parish.  The explosion set off a fire and there are some injuries being reported.  The company website indicates the plant manufactures ethylene and polymer grade propylene.
