Family Friendly Mardi Gras Event To Be Held At Putnam Park
Several groups are teaming up to offer a family friendly Mardi Gras on Fat Tuesday.
The event will offer a an alcohol and tobacco free environment.
The Knowledge Effect Coalition is teaming up with the following organizations to make the event possible:
- One Minute Ministry
- Victory Addiction Recovery Center
- Lafayette Consolidated Government
- AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana
- Tobacco Free Living, S.T.R.E.N.G.T.H. Alumni
- DJ Skitts
- Living Faith Church
This will be the 7th year for the 7th Annual Family Friendly Mardi Gras.
Event organizers say the event will offer a safe, fun and healthy environment for families.
The event will be held between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Parc Putnam which is on Lafayette Street right across from the Federal courthouse.
The event is free and open to the public. It will feature:
- Fun jumps
- Games
- Alcohol and drug awareness activities
- Free food
- Free drinks
All the parades will pass right in front of the event.
