The US House of Representatives is expected to debate this week a bill that would challenge the Obama Administration's handling of the drilling permit process in the Gulf. House Natural Resources Chairman, Doc Hastings of Washington, is the author of the "Putting the Gulf Back to Work Act." He says it moves the permitting process at a faster pace.  Hastings is confident the bill will pass the House. He hopes the public outrage over rising gas prices will convince the democratic controlled Senate to send the measure to the President's desk.  Hastings says his bill along with other companion measures in Congress, will promote more domestic oil production and stabilize gas prices.
