Fatal Crash Avoyelles Parish

ECHO, La. (AP) — An Alexandria woman has died in a three vehicle crash in Avoyelles Parish.

State police say 54-year-old Brenda L. Johnson was killed when the pickup in which she was a passenger attempted to pass a car in a no-passing zone and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

The crash occurred around 11 p.m. Sunday on La. Highway 1 south of La. Highway 114 near Echo.

The pickup crashed into a third vehicle after the first collision.

The occupants of the other cars suffered minor to moderate injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
