‘Father Of Pac Man’ Dead At 91
It's estimated the game of Pac Man has been played more than 10 billion times. It's in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most successful arcade game of all time.
AP reports the founder of the company that introduced Pac Man to the world has passed away.
Masaya Nakamura founded Namco in 1955. The company's first product was a couple mechanical horses. The iconic game was designed by Toru Iwatani, and went on sale in 1980. Namco merged with Bandai in 2005, and became a global leader in arcade gaming.
Nakamura passed away on January 22nd. He was 91. The cause of his death is not known.
