In a move to cut it's health care costs, the FDA may soon let patients buy some blood pressure medications and other medications without a prescription.  Today on "Mornings With Ken & Bernie" Dr. Mitchell Brooks said this would be bad for most patients.

Dr. Mitchell said, "the issue to me strikes me as highly unsound and frankly dangerous".  He went on to say, "we don't even know if this plan will work, we don't know even know if it will save money or cost more".

Mitchell said the pharmacy lobby wants the FDA to make these changes so that pharmacists can prescribe medications but he said they should deal with the consequences.
