40 year old Cori Yarborough of Shreveport pleaded guilty yesterday to possessing a stolen assault rifle and ammunition. Yarborough had previously been convicted of numerous felonies.

Evidence presented at his guilty plea indicated that Shreveport Police stopped Yarborough's van after being called out to investigate someone driving around with an assault rifle. Yarborough was stopped and his van searched. That search turned up a Colt rifle, model M4, .223 caliber and ammunition. The rifle and ammo were found to have been stolen earlier.

Yarborough has multiple felonies on his record including simple robbery, aggravated robbery and attempted burglary. He faces 10 years in prison on this count and maybe up to 15 years if he qualifies as a career criminal. A fine of up $250,000 is also possible.
