‘Fences’ Set For Shreveport Little Theater

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — LSU-Shreveport faculty member Robert Alford will direct the play "Fences" by August Wilson at Shreveport Little Theater.

Performances are scheduled for Aug. 2-12.

"Fences" is set in Pittsburgh in 1957. The central character, Troy, is excluded from Major League Baseball, and bitterness soon takes its toll on his relationships with both his wife and son. The drama has won both the Tony Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

The production is a collaborative of LSU-Shreveport Black Box Theatre and Shreveport Little Theatre.
