Fiery I-10 Crash Claims Life Of A Georgia Man

Sunday morning shortly before 9:40 State Police responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Interstate 10 Westbound, near LA Highway 91 that claimed the life of a 63 year old Michael Ransom of Villa Rica, Georgia. Apparently a tractor trailer driven by Ransom was traveling west on I-10, ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree. Upon impact, the truck burst into flames.  The Acadia Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced Ransom dead on scene.

Impairment is not suspected, but a toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
