Fire Cancels Classes At St. Martin Parish School

A Thursday afternoon fire at St. Martinville Primary School in St. Martin Parish led to a cancellation of classes for today.
The fire reportedly erupted in a school cafeteria storage room, but was extinguished by a sprinkler system. Students were evacuated from the building. There were no injuries. The blaze may have been sparked by an electrical problem. The school is expected to reopen Monday.
