This week on 'Firearms Friday' Glenn Fleming joined Ken Romero and Dr. John Sutherlin for 'Go Acadiana' and discussed concealed carry in Washington DC, ammo and gun recalls from manufacturers, how a mass shooting was stopped by gun carrying doctor, gun safety and his trip to Maine.

As usual we started with a safety tip from Glenn who advised,

Always point your weapon in a safe direction when loading and unloading to prevent negligent discharges due to complacency.

Fleming had two recalls to tell us about including one ammo recall and a gun recall. According to Fleming,

Hornady has done a recall on certain self-defense 9mm ammo. You have to go to their website for details but they do want it back. Remington is the other recall. They produced a pistol call the R51 and it never worked right and people who bought it knew it never worked right. Now Remington has come out and said, 'yeah, our bad' and they're recalling all of them. For more information you can go to the Remington website.

Many anti-gun supporters say the government should be the only ones allowed to have guns because they can better keep track of the weaponry. That's not the case according to Fleming.

They've (the government) come up with a couple of missing guns in Afghanistan, about 230,000 and that doesn't take into account what Attorney General Eric Holder sent to Mexico. So next time you think the government can do a better job of keeping your guns remember they'll probably lose them in Mexico or Afghanistan.
