YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (AP) — Firefighters in California say they've been able to stop a new run while battling a wildfire in Yosemite National Park.

They say containment lines have kept, and they've been able to keep the blaze away from some of the largest and oldest trees on earth.

About 50 homes are still under evacuation orders. Meanwhile, a wildfire in Sierra National Forest has grown substantially and has spread across nearly 9 square miles.

Officials say about 20 homes are threatened, but there's no mandatory evacuation.
